BREAKING NEWS: President Donald Trump was forced to hide in an airport catering cart and was taken to a military jet for a secret flight out of the country following whispers of an assassination attempt from Iran, a senior U.S. official said. The president was leaving the NATO summit in Turkey on July 8, which he had traveled to aboard a 747-8 gifted to him by Qatar. The public was confused when Trump opted for a much less luxurious plane to travel home on.
At the time, he announced that he was going to take an older plane back to the U.S., “for old times’ sake.” The Qatari jet reportedly traveled to a U.S. military base in the United Kingdom, without the U.S. leader on board. However, the senior official told the New York Times that the president didn’t actually board the older jet.
It comes as Iran’s chilling threats on the Trump family finally took their toll with dramatic results. Instead, they said, Trump was taken by a food cart that had been fitted to the belly of the plane, to a third plane, which he traveled aboard in secret to the U.K. The top-secret move was previously reported by the Washington Post, but a White House spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
White House Confirms Credible Threat
Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, previously hinted that there may have been a threat against the president during his departure from Turkey. “As the president has said recently, there are many enemies of America who have their sights on him, and we use every tool at our disposal – including distraction and misdirection – to address those threats,” Cheung said at the time. The White House’s willingness to mislead the press about Trump’s departure suggests that they believed the threat from Iran was credible.
The same week, Israel shared intelligence with the U.S., warning of a new Iranian plot to assassinate Donald Trump. Around the same time, the highly fragile ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran had begun to break down, and both sides launched strikes again. Trump has spoken openly about being a primary target for Iran, but insisted that there would be consequences if they tried.
